The Women’s Campaign (or ‘WomCam’) is a liberation campaign which exists to represent women and non-binary students, advocate for our interests, and defend our rights. This year our campaigns will include improved support for survivors of sexual violence, fair working conditions and wages for women staff, and working with the local community to address issues such as the vulnerability of homeless women.
Our campaign tackles misogyny, but we know that misogyny cannot be understood in isolation and there is no single female experience. Gender justice is also racial justice, queer justice, disabled justice, trans justice, and class justice, and feminism must be a project which struggles for us all. Although the Women’s Campaign is headed by one full-time officer, the campaign is directed collectively by students. All women and non-binary students are automatically members of the campaign, and can join us at Forum every Wednesday evening during term time where we plan feminist organising and pass WomCam policy.
