With a Chorus, Chamber choir and three orchestras covering a range of musical standards and styles, CUMS caters for a diverse group of over 400 performing members. The University's finest musicians are drawn to us by our 160-year tradition of excellence and our challenging concert programmes. For other members, CUMS offers the chance to make music to a high standard once a week whilst having a lot of fun and forming friendships which could last a lifetime. We have two symphony orchestras (CUMS SO & CO), a chamber orchestra and a Wind Orchestra. To join any of these groups you can attend a single audition - for further information see our website. The chorus has an open rehearsal which you can attend before auditions are arranged. CUMS holds regular concerts (normally 3 or 4 a term) in the Concert Hall, West Road and King's College Chapel, as well as tours abroad and concerts in Ely and Oxford. Next year's programme will include Rachmaninov's 3rd Piano Concerto performed by Peter Donohoe and guest conductorships by Sir Roger Norrington.
