Cambridge University Oriental Dance Association was founded in April 2013, by a group of Chinese students. Our mission is to provide a platform for fellow passionate dancers in the region, to promote the fusion and re-creation of the myriad oriental dance genres. and to stage for various celebrations, charitable or commercial events in Cambridgeshire or nearby cities.
It is our honour to have invited Ms Meng Yuan to be our dance teacher. Graduated from Beijing Dance Acadmy in China and the Royal Dance Academy in London, Meng is now a very proficient and reputable dancer and teacher in the region, through ten years of bi-lingual teaching in both Cambridge and the Royal Dance Academy. In addition, her experience in promoting oriental culture in the UK would also be an invaluable asset to our society, in our course of self-development and culture promotion.
As a young society, we sincerely welcome everyone who is interested in dancing to join our society. No matter which country you are from, which dance style you prefer--classic, modern, traditional, contemporary, hip-hop, etc., or whether you have ever danced before, you will always find your niche in CUODA. In here, we hope we could all be bounded by our common passion in dancing, build on each other's strengths, spark new creativity through our communication and choreography, and most importantly, enjoy every minute of us dancing together!
