Cambridge Journal of Law, Politics and the Arts [CJLPA]
This Society would consist of the managing and writing body of a new student journal: the Cambridge Journal of Law, Politics and the Arts.
The focus area of the Journal would be to provide a forum for the interdisciplinary exploration of legal issues, political debates and cultural and artistic trends: an important and perhaps neglected bridge in the Cambridge academic and student community on the interaction of these three fields. Examples of articles could be: a piece on a work of art that has special resonance with a political/legal issue of the modern day; a piece on the legal debate on the return of art and heritage assets to their countries of origin (e.g. Elgin Marbles); or a piece on modern political art/propaganda. There are many more.
The Journal would be open to the entire Cambridge academic community, but would likely comprise mostly Cambridge undergraduate students.
Logo, constitution, funding and society structure will be finalised in the next two days.
There has been considerable interest in this proposed Journal following consultation with elements of the student community.
