Cambridge University Cheerleading Society [CUCS]
The Cambridge University Cheerleading Society (Cambridge Cougars) is open to everyone with enthusiasm and spirit. Cheerleading is a combination of stunting, tumbling and dance that is easy to learn but requires strength, co-ordination and agility to master. We mainly perform at regional and national competitions but also at a few events.
The Cambridge Cougars have in the past been very successful! Both the first and second teams have won Varsity 6 years in a row!!!. In the 2019-2020 season our teams consisted of a level 3 co-ed team and a level 1 all-girl team, both placing in the top 10 of their category at Nationals!
We do not require any previous experience, but a background in dance or gymnastics is a bonus! We will have a taster session in the first week of term to teach you all the basics. Tryouts for both the first and second teams will be held in the first week as well.
If you don't want to commit to a team we are also running a conditioning session followed by an open gym every Saturday. Feel free to stop by, we promise you'll be hooked!!! Go Cougars!!!
