The MedTech Foundation (MTF) is a national student-run organisation that aims to inspire, educate and develop the next generation of healthcare innovators.
We believe that the best healthcare innovations come from driven
interdisciplinary teams, and that everyone has the potential to apply their unique experiences and cultivate their knowledge to develop solutions to real-world problems. At MTF, we work to enable students and early career professionals to find their potential, and provide them with the necessary platform and skills needed to research and innovate within the MedTech sphere.
The Cambridge spoke of the MedTech Foundation was founded in
2018 and has since developed a thriving community of talented
individuals driven to improve healthcare. We work closely with the Cambridge University Hospitals, the NIHR Brain Injury Med-Tech Cooperative, Clinical Engineering Innovation, the Judge Business School and local medtech start-ups and companies.
We run two main activities through the year - the Innovation Programme and MEDx events. Through the Innovation Programme, participants are equipped with the skills and knowledge needed to create a viable solution to current NHS problems and bring it to market. Participants network and work within interdisciplinary teams are are given the opportunity to pitch their final and complete solution to a panel of technological, clinical and business experts. Our MEDx events consist of a series of short talks aimed to inspire University students to innovate and enter the MedTech sphere. Partipants are encouraged to network freely to expand their interdisciplinary personal and professional networks.
Our activities are improving and expanding year-on-year and we will continue to be the gateway into MedTech and innovation for Cambridge University Students.
