Hello! I’m part of the access and funding team on the part time
executive. I’m currently head of the student union at Sidney Sussex, but
before that I was one of the access officers there. Being on the part
time executive is super exciting because it allows me to really devote
some time to improving Cambridge for its current and future students,
especially those who are from access backgrounds.
My priority for the year is to ensure that access-cause related students
(future and present!) know how to utilise the university to their
benefit, whether this be through open days, masterclasses, summer
schools, or Class Act socials, their local, college Access Officers or
otherwise!
I study: Social Anthropology (HSPS) at Sidney Sussex College.
What I do when I’m not at CUSU: more student politics for Sidney Sussex
College Students’ Union (SSCSU)! And I can often be found in a pub with
a pint or dancing far too enthusiastically (usually to my own detriment
– both physical and emotional) in a bop, silent disco, Cambridge club
dance floor or similar .
My favourite place in Cambridge is the backs of John’s College. I
usually drag some friends there for a chilled breakfast (Sainsbury’s
croissants and a Bould Brothers Coffee) or lunch (which will usually
involve chickpeas in some form, 9 times out of 10, it’s hummus).
