My role as President involves representing students at the University level, whether sitting on committees, meeting with University officials or writing reports. In addition to this, I help JCRs and MCRs to make changes within their colleges and work closely with students to campaign on important issues within Cambridge. I also make sure that students are informed about CUSU’s work through social media, visits to colleges and the weekly email bulletin!
I ran for this role because I wanted to make sure students had a strong voice within the University and ensure that student interests were properly looked after. Having been a JCR President at Jesus during my degree, I wanted to continue fighting for student interests and campaigning to bring about much-needed change at both a University and College level.
My top priorities this year are focused on supporting JCRs and MCRs, improving access and prioritising student welfare. I also want to keep up CUSU’s crucial campaigning work and ensure that we continue to prioritise student engagement.
Studied: Human, Social and Political Sciences at Jesus College
What do you do when you’re not at CUSU?: Away from CUSU, I like playing and watching football, trips to the pub and I’m also involved with lots of other political activities!
Favourite place in Cambridge?: The Granta pub – so many happy memories sitting in the sun with friends and relaxing together
