The Cambridge University Railway Club (CURC) was founded in 1911, and as such, is the second oldest railway club in the world. Today its members' interests cover the whole of the railway scene, both in Britain and throughout the world. The club is primarily run by students and staff of Cambridge University. The club is not all about train talk, but a direct pathway to potential graduate employers, we have a celebrated history of CURC alumni who now work that the most senior levels within the industry. The CURC tries to arrange an event in Cambridge every week during Full Term, with at least one event holding a Member's Formal to allow the conversation continue with the speaker over dinner. On most occasions this involves an invited speaker giving an illustrated talk on a specific subject, and this is almost always a professional from within the rail industry or preservation.
Come and try us out for free, as the CURC provides exclusive access to key railway professionals, as well as visits to key sites around the country; you might just want to become a member! Student Membership costs £10 per year or £25 for life membership. You can pay an annual membership now and upgrade to life later. If not, we charge £3 at the door for non-members, upon your third entry to a talk.
We look forward to welcoming you soon. Please follow our events here, or on Talks@Cam. OR email to be signed up to our email list.
