The option to re-open nominations, will be a candidate for each position in the election. If a voter does not wish to vote for any of the candidates standing for election, they can vote for RON. If RON wins an election, nominations will be re-opened, and a by-election will be held at the next possible opportunity.





As the Welfare and Rights Officer, you will:

  • Be a member of the CUSU Sabbatical Officer Team and the GU Sabbatical Officer Team
  • Represent the students of Cambridge University
  • Lead the Welfare and Rights Team
  • Be the primary CUSU representative on matter of student wellbeing
  • Provide regular training to officers of affiliated common rooms (e.g. Welfare Officer training)
  • Oversee the Union’s provision of sexual health resources
  • Oversee and be responsible for the Student’s Unions’ Advice Service on behalf of Members
  • Support affiliated Common Rooms in the planning of campaigns and projects relating to welfare
  • May be appointed to take on case work within the Students' Unions' Advice Service after the successful completion of an extensive training programme
