The Choir of Emmanuel College, Cambridge is made up of around 24 men and women. It sings at services in the College's Wren Chapel each Thursday and Sunday in term and has a separate rehearsal on Tuesday evenings. Occasional services of Compline take place on Wednesday evenings. All members of the choir (whether Choral Scholars, Exhibitioners or volunteers from other colleges) receive free regular singing lessons with a superb teacher and free dinners in Hall on Sundays.
Besides the regular rehearsal/service schedule, the choir makes occasional visits to other British churches and cathedrals, and goes on regular foreign tours (recent destinations including Prague, Rome, Thailand, Mexico and Sweden). Over the last couple of years the choir has broadcast for Mexican TV, sung in residence at St Patrick's Cathedral, Dublin and Southwark Cathedral and St George's Chapel, Windsor Castle. The choir has recently recorded a CD of choral works by E. W. Naylor, due to be launched at a recital at the Temple Church in March 2014. The choir is planning a tour to New York, Connecticut and Boston in April 2014 and will be giving concerts at Trinity Church, Wall Street and Harvard Memorial Church.
The choir sings to a very high standard; it is a very welcoming group and enjoys an excellent social life.
