I hope Week 6 is going smoothly.
So, nominations for the 2016-2017 CUSU elections close tomorrow—If running has been a consideration, why not go for it?
The Big Cambridge Survey is out! After hearing from 3,951 students about their Cambridge experience, you can read the report today. Thanks to your response we are better able to raise issues about your student experience across the Collegiate University. The data clearly highlights the strengths of the institution and the value students feel they experience at Cambridge. Yet there is considerable disparity in academic and pastoral experiences across Colleges and Departments. We know, for example, that the cost of living concerns many students, in particular, mature students are disproportionately facing financial pressures. We also learn that Black students continue to disproportionately experience prejudice, and disabled students find studying at Cambridge negatively impacting their physical well being.
We continue to work tirelessly in these areas on committees, working groups and in student-led activism. We take your feedback incredibly seriously. Next term, we will begin the CUSU Impact Report series, where we let students know exactly how their feedback has contributed to our work this year.
Also this week, the first rent workshop of three this term will be taking place at King's College, 5-6pm Weds in the Keynes Seminar Room 2. All students are welcome to attend, so don't miss out on tips, tricks and a discussion on accommodation rights in Cambridge, find the Facebook event here.
Reclaim The Night is also fast approaching, join Charlie, the CUSU Women's Officer this Wednesday in a banner-making session at 7pm here at 17 Mill Lane. Lastly, if you're free at some point on Friday, pop into the students' union between 1 and 5pm for the first Vintage Fair of the year!
As always, make sure to scroll down and check out news, events and opportunities this week.
