I hope your week is off to a great start.
This past week has been an exceptionally busy one, with the CUSU referendum on the addition of a Disabled Student's Officer to the full-time Sabbatical officer team passing with a 92.22% Yes vote. Some 4,679 votes were cast. Thank you to everyone who voted and campaigned - it was a real testament to the student voice.
This past week also saw the end of the CUSU Shadowing Scheme 2016! On behalf of the team, I wanted to say a massive thank you again to all those who took part as mentors or volunteered at a series of events to ensure prospective applicants got to see the real Cambridge. We know from feedback that the Scheme is an invaluable experience for sixth formers, and your input will have really made a difference.
This week, I'm continuing my work on harassment training resources for tutors with the CUSU Women's Officer, Charlie, who is also preparing for the Women's Officer Training Day and Reclaim the Night (both on Sunday 6th March). If you are interested in women's welfare, or want to speak or steward at the Reclaim the Night March, please do get in touch with her Charlie at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Lastly, Poppy, the CUSU-GU Welfare Officer, has organised Yoga for Disabled Students on Thursday at 6:30. If you want to attend, please sign up here.
As ever, get in touch with us with any comments, queries or issues or pop in for the CUSU Open Hour on Mondays, 10 to 11am.
Have a wonderful week,
PS: The Student's Unions' Advice Service will be on the Downing Site on Friday morning from 10-12pm. Please be sure to say hi!
