I hope Week 2 finds you well and enthusiastic about term so far.
CUSU's relationship with the student press varies from year to year and so we have released guidelines to help ensure your students' union always has a constructive and open relationship with student press.
With the CUSU Shadowing Scheme well under way, term is off to a busy start. In the last week, Charlie, the CUSU Women's Officer and I have made great strides in the creation of resources and training for tutors and academics on racial and sexual harassment. This week, I will also be holding meetings with student finance advisors to plan my upcoming series of rent and accommodation workshops, which I hope elected College reps will find useful in the months to come
I also wanted to take a moment to remind students that Poppy, the CUSU-GU Welfare and Rights Officer, has recently been successful in securing a prescription pick up system for students living in College and in receipt of a prescription; if you would like any further information at all, please get in touch with Poppy, the Advice Service, or your College nurse for more information.
There are several things to share in this email; don't forget that the CUSU Referendum on a Disabled Students' Officer opens tomorrow at 9am; all students are eligible to vote, so make sure to find out about both sides of the referendum at cusu.co.uk/referendum.
As ever, make sure to scroll down for society news, events and opportunities. From next week, the sabbatical officers and I also introduce our open hour, every Monday 10-11am. If you'd like to meet the team for a chat over tea and snacks, or ask specific questions about our work this year, think about popping in.
Have a productive week, and I look forward to seeing you soon,
