Your Students' Union: How do we do it?

We work with you and fight for you. How do we do it?
Through representation, support, and training.
REPRESENTING
CUSU represents Cambridge students at an institutional, local and national level. We ensure that the voice of Cambridge University students is heard at all levels across the university. We attend meetings, support other reps, and provide briefings so others can engage in up can coming issues.
Did you know our President sits on the Council and is a trustee of the University of Cambridge?
SUPPORTING
We’re here to support you! Be that through helping you run a campaign, highlighting an issue you care about or helping resolve an issue in your college.
In our commitment to supporting students, we also fund the Students’ Unions’ Advice Service (SUAS) in conjunction with the Graduate Union. This is a service that provides all Cambridge University students with free confidential, independent and impartial advice. They can help with anything from:
• Academic-related issues
• Homesickness and culture shock
• Personal issues
• Disciplinary issues
• Bullying/harassment
• Mental health issues
• Welfare concerns
• Taking time out from studies (Intermission)
• Resolving disputes
• University & College regulations
TRAINING
Another way we are committed to helping students is by providing numerous training sessions throughout the academic year. These include sessions for:
• Welfare Officers
• Access Officers
• Sports Clubs
• Societies
• Women’s Officers
• College Committees
• Faculty Reps
And much more! We also host our annual training conference (CUSU Conference) for JCR and MCR College committees at the beginning of Lent Term each year.
