The CUSU Part-Time Executive is comprised of five teams and three representative roles, each listed below. Elections will be held from Tuesday 1st - Thursday 3rd November, and positions will last for either a year, until graduation, or until a campaign deemed complete by CUSU Council.

How can I get involved?

In each team there are two Campaigns Officer positions available. The duties of a Campaigns Officer are:

  • Planning and implementing and reviewing a single campaign which formed the basis of their elections manifesto
  • Working with their head of team to implement their campaign
  • Identifying co-opted volunteers who require induction or training and communicating this to the Head of Team
  • Attending and participating in Team and Full-Exec Meetings
  • From time to time contributing to certain other CUSU and Team activities.

You will be supported by CUSU to help achieve the goals of your campaign.

The CUSU Teams

Being on a CUSU Team is an exciting opportunity to make a difference within the University, within Cambridge or even nationally! CUSU campaigns on a huge range of issues and part-time officers are right at the heart of developing and running CUSU's activities as a students' union representing 20,000 students.

CUSU Teams are made up of two Part-Time Executive members (students who are elected alongside their studies) and led either by a Sabbatical Officer or two Part-Time Officers. There are several executive roles available each year within each on the following Teams with which you can get involved;

These Teams meet at least once a fortnight to enact policy created at CUSU Council and to create new ideas to take forward as proposals. All students are welcome to attend Team meetings and take part in the discussion.

The Part-Time Exec also includes:

Three Representation Officers

Only those students who fall into these categories may run for these positions. Each representative has a vote on CUSU Council, a budget for social events and can submit budget proposals to CUSU Council for extra funding to run campaigns. If you run for election for a representative role, you'll be expected to attend CUSU Council, Coordination Meetings and Full Exec Meetings.
